In October 2010 we took a cruise to Greece. This was a "consolation prize" for the trip we had planned to take to Peru. During the summer we traveled to Colorado to see if we could handle the heights, because Machu Pichu is about 11,000 feet up. We stayed two nights in Leadville, the highest overnight point in the U.S. The altitude sickness was pretty bad. Brian couldn't breathe right and decided it would be disastrous to go to Machu Pichu. So we scratched that one off our "bucket list."
